Deanna Henderson was awarded a FINRA Foundation Military Spouse Fellowship in 2006 and obtained the AFC designation in early 2007. During this time she was employed as a Branch Services Manager with UBS Financial Services and volunteered with the Army Community Services Financial Readiness Program. Since receiving her AFC designation, Deanna was licensed/registered as a Financial Advisor with MetLife Securities in 2008. In 2013, she became the Counseling Services Manager for Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Fayetteville, NC. She continues to provide volunteer financial counseling/education at local churches and community service agencies.
Deanna is currently a Financial Planning Counselor for the Soldier for Life – Transition Assistance Program at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where she teaches financial planning workshops and provides one-on-one financial counseling services for military personnel transitioning from active duty service. In addition, she is working on an M.S. degree in Family Financial Planning and Counseling at the University of Alabama.
As the spouse of an Army retiree, Deanna has been able to use her AFC credentials and experience in many areas of financial counseling and education. She attributes her success to her resiliency as a military spouse and from sharing her own success/failures in handling personal finances. Her mantra is "You may have made mistakes/poor financial decisions in the past, but let’s move forward with the information you have obtained."
