What is BrightScore?
BrightScore is a secure online credit management tool and educational resource created by the InCharge Institute.
What does BrightScore give me?
You'll get a detailed analysis of your individual credit score, including how it was calculated and key factors that hurt or help your score. You'll also receive:
- a customized, interactive summary of your credit report,
- a step-by-step action plan to improve your credit score, and
- access to live financial counselors who can answer your questions or provide coaching on credit-related issues for a 90-day period.
If your score is 620 or lower, you'll be eligible for one additional free credit score analysis. For more information, view the BrightScore demonstration.
What else should I know?
BrightScore uses Experian® data to create your custom BrightScore, which approximates your FICO score. You will need to provide your name, Social Security number, and recent address(es) to gain access. Please note that using BrightScore does not count as a credit report request for the purposes of obtaining annual free credit reports.
