Common Investment Scams and Problems

As most long-term investors know, markets go up and down-and the failure of an investment to provide positive returns more often than not has nothing to do with fraud. 


But investment fraud can occur when a salesperson unfairly or unlawfully deceives investors in connection with the sale of securities products-such as stocks, bonds, and similar financial instruments.  Here are some of the more common investment scams and problems that regulators see.
